  • A gray cat slinks past a wooden house. There’s something a little intimidating attempting to describe.

Women’s March Downtown Los Angeles

January 21, 2018

This morning I got up super early (for me) for a Saturday. The only people I came across on my walk down the hill to the Metro Station were a few homeless people just getting up on the street and the mass of construction worker’s getting coffee. Got my own coffee at Starbucks, teared up to see a women in a Women’s March shirt hand a ten dollar bill discreetly to an (apparently) homeless woman who was drinking coffee and grooving to the music. It’s the small things. I felt incredibly fortunate that I was able to get my own coffee and also able to take the time to go downtown for the March. 7:00 boarded the redline and was happy to see that it was fairly full. I didn’t do the march last year because I didn’t fully feel up to it after a double hip surgery in the tail end of summer. I saw plenty of people with canes, in wheelchairs this year though. Stayed around to hear all of the speakers in Pershing Square. So many signs. Lots of great speeches talking about inequality, parity in politics. People with signs, kids, mermaids, dogs too! Here are some of my pics from the day.

  • About Me

I'm a photographer, designer and mom and absolutely love taking pictures. The experience from taking photos to editing them is so rewarding. I love how photos from these fleeting moments can beautifully augment our memories of people, times and places and create a feeling of nostalgia and immediacy at the same time.
